About Me

My Photo
Don R. Long
(b. 1946, Los Angeles California) studied art and photography at the University of California Long Beach, LA Trade Tech, Laguna College of Art & Design, and Chouinard LA. As a child he attended a Santa Monica preschool where daily art lessons was the norm. Living and working in Los Angeles established a fertile atmosphere for the experience of art from all cultures and periods. The strong art enviornment of southern California shaped his keen eye for color and style. In 2001 he left the freeways of southern CA behind and moved to the Four Corners area. He now divides his time between homes in Sierra County New Mexico, and Pagosa Springs, Colorado, where he and his wife, artist Susie Long, share studios in their secluded wilderness homes."I finally have the freedom to focus on different mediums, and work as a full time artist. I took the creative leap. I trust my art makes a direct statement to your emotions, and fills in the spaces." His art and photographs have been exhibited in numerous galleries and private collections throughout the Southwest, and California since the early 1980's.
